On March 24, representatives from across Alberta gathered in Red Deer to discuss the feasibility of operating a semi-professional roller hockey league in Alberta.
There was support for the idea from across the province and this season five teams will begin play. Calgary, Red Deer, Edmonton, Sherwood Park and Spruce Grove are all committed to entering a team. The best inline players in Alberta will be trying out to make one of these teams and represent their community in the league. Play will begin May 11 and finish up at the Western Nationals this June in Edmonton.
Edmonton Inline is a volunteer organization formed for and dedicated to providing an opportunity for young players and adults to play inline hockey.
